2017 Summer EdTech Conference Tentative Featured Speakers
Stacy is a former elementary and middle school teacher and spent some time as a district technology director. Now, she is the Coordinator of Digital Learning at Grant Wood Area Education Agency
in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she works with school districts as they integrate technology and 21st-century skills into their curriculum. She is a Google Education Trainer and Certified Innovator and loves how these Google tools can be used by students and districts to collaborate and expand on learning!
Mitch Dowhower is a Network Systems Administrator for the Spencer Community School District in Spencer, Iowa. Mitch has provided technical assistance and leadership to many school districts during
their transition to Google Apps for Education. Mitch is a Google Apps for Education Certified Trainer and holds a master's degree in organizational management.
Patrick Donovan is a Technology Integration Specialist here in Ames, IA at Ames High School and have been in this role since 2013. I graduated from ISU with a degree in Physics and
Secondary Education in the spring of 2004. I received my Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction Technology in May of 2015. In 2012 I started teaching here in the Ames Community School District teaching Physics at the High School while also teaching 7th grade Life Science and 8th grade Physical Science at the Middle School.
Chad Frerichs is the Director of Technology for a 1:1 school district in Iowa. Chad is a scripting geek who loves to automate processes using Google Scripting. Chad also enjoys showing teachers how
to utilize Google Apps to make their lives easier and more organized. For Chad Ed Tech is not a job, it is just what he does.
Karl is the director of Technology for Ames Community Schools in Ames, IA. He helped start one of the first 1:1 learning initiatives in Iowa. Karl has helped move multiple districts to Google and has presented at numerous
conferences around the midwest. As an authorized Google Education Trainer, he specializes in technical deployments, Google dashboard management, Chromebook deployments, Google Apps Manager and loves to dabble in Google scripting
Chad works for Franklin Public Schools as a Technology Coach at the 5th-8th middle level. He prides himself on being able to talk "teacher" and "tech" while he works to integrate technology in the classroom with students and staff. Aside
from his daily work in Franklin, Chad has taught several gradlevel courses for educators, run various conferences, consults with school districts, and regularly presents at conferences. Chad is an active part of the Google Certified Teacher, Trainer and Apple Distinguished Educator networks. Chad personally enjoys learning new ways to be more efficient, effective and engaging with technology and hopes he's able to inspire and share some new things with you.
Lance Lennon has been in education for 20 + years, the last 18 have been as a technology director and technology integrationist. He is a Certified Casper Administrator, a DEN Star Educator, and an Authorized Google Education Trainer. His district has been
using Google Apps for Education for the past five and a half years. Lance is a Google proponent and all around Google enthusiast.
Tammy Lind is currently a Technology Integration Coach in Southeastern Wisconsin. She is a Google Education Trainer and a Google Certified teacher. Tammy is also an Intel for Education Master teacher.
Prior to becoming a technology
integration coach Tammy worked as an elementary classroom teacher, a special education teacher and a math specialist in the Milwaukee Public and South Milwaukee School Districts. It was during her time as a special education teacher and an Assistive Technology team leader that Tammy became passionate about finding current web-based technologies that make the curriculum accessible to all learners. Tammy is a co:contributor of the Teacher Tech Talk Podcast which highlights current classroom technologies and former contributor to the Mobile Reach podcast which highlights current issues in the area of mobile learning in schools. She is one of the two person team that brought the first Edcamp to Wisconsin and hosted the event in South Milwaukee.
Dr, Henry Thiele
Dr. Henry (Hank) Thiele is the Superintendent for Community High School District 99 in Downers Grove Illinois where he serves 5000 high school students and 700 staff members. Prior to that role he served as Assistant Superintendent for Technology and Learning in the
Maine 207 Schools in Park Ridge, IL. Hank started out as a high school science and music teacher and as a building technology coordinator. Hank is a Google Certified Educator, Trainer, Innovator, and Administrator and has also taught for the Google Teacher Academy. His doctoral research was some of the first work investigating “Web 2.0” and its impact on communication, learning, and efficacy in the classroom. His favorite work comes from being a dad of two amazing kids.
